Metaverse is the new term for many but is the start of a new future, it is a 3D universe that combines multiple different visual spaces. It allows the users to meet, play games, work and socialize together in the 3D spaces. This is the only term we have talked about and there are many new terms related to technology people might have not heard, heard about somewhere but do not know what they are in real or maybe know the unclear meaning of a few of them.

1. C-Band in 5G
If you remember the time when you used to have a dish cable connected to your TV? Those cables were connected to a huge dish on the top of the cable operator’s office. The huge dish captures the signals from different satellites and transmits those signals via transmitters to provide you with different channels on your TV.
That was the C-band technology used by your cable operator for providing different channels on your television. That was the older version of the C-band. The C-band we are talking about now is more improved and advanced in terms of methods used for encoding than that was used earlier.
Technically, C-band is placed between two Wi-fi bands of the frequency range of 2.4GHz and 5GHz. The main aim of using this old-but-improved technology with 5G is to enhance the speed. Most of the countries have already started to use C-band because it is the best 5G band available in the entire world now. C-band in 5G can fix the very problem that 5G is facing. The international telecommunication union (ITU) has divided the C-band into three parts- band n77, band n78, and band n79 each band providing a different range of frequency. Out of the three bands, n77 is the largest and Japan is currently using it.
2. Ultra-Wideband (UWB)
The Ultra-wideband (UWB) is the wireless communication protocol that uses radio signals to share and receive data by using a broad spectrum of frequencies, mainly in Gigabits. The frequency range of UWB is from 3.1 GHz to 10.6 GHz.
This technology is best for a limited area as it provides a higher data speed in a limited area than narrowband. And this technology is the solution for the GPS problems faced while using narrowband. This technology is quite related to Bluetooth but is far better and more reliable than that. The UWB is not a new term, it was there a decade ago when the use of it was limited to military radar and was costly then. But now the UWB chips are cheap and small enough to fit in devices like smartphones.
3. Mini-LED Screen and QD-OLED Screen
The Mini-LED screen is a screen tech that is mostly found in TV displays. It is an improvement in LCD technology and most of the companies are building new TV/devices using mini-LED backlight tech in them. Mini-LED is herewith for about a few years and is already in use by most of the famous tech brands. TCL, Phillips, Samsung, and LG are the brands that are selling Mini-LED in the market. The mini-LED proved itself so useful that the companies are thinking of using Mini LED’s backlight tech inside new devices or even associating them with new devices too. The Mini-LED provides greater contrast and better control over dimming zones. Even Apple is thinking of launching several products with Mini-LED.
QD-OLED screen or Quantum Dot OLED TVs uses quantum dot technology to enhance and improve the quality of existing OLED panels. It was expected that QD-OLED will finally be there in the market by the end of 2021 and companies like Samsung, Sony, and Alienware said to introduce TVs and monitors with the best display technology at CES 2022 but the time when these devices will be available in the market is still unknown. The combination of Quantum Dot technology with the Organic Light-Emitting Diodes can do what wonders are still not known yet.
4. DDR5 Memory
The DDR5 memory is the technology designed to handle the skyrocketing processing demands of the computers of the next generation which will be able to provide high speed and better performance to its users. DDR5 is a huge improvement over DDR4 in terms of reliability, speed, performance, stability, and efficiency. You can use multiple chrome tabs simultaneously while doing different other tasks on the same computer like watching YouTube, painting, editing documents, editing photographs, messing, and chatting with people without getting interrupted by one another. This advanced technology will change the way of working and help you to save time. The initial DDR5 will be able to provide the 4.8Gbps which is a 50% increase in bandwidth of DDR4 that will ultimately scale to a data rate of 8.4 Gbps. In DDR5 new power architecture is used, that is DIMM which was earlier in the motherboard in previous models. There are several changes done to form the new DDR5 and is expected to perform for future generations.
5. Wi-Fi 6E
This new term is not very new in particular as Wi-Fi 6E is the Wi-Fi 6 which is extended to the 6 GHz band to remove the problem of overlapping. The standards of Wi-Fi 6E are the same as of Wi-Fi 6, the only difference they have is of extended-spectrum, but this only difference makes a huge difference in both. Wi-Fi 6E uses a 6GHz frequency band that ranges from 5.925 GHz to 7.125 GHz by which the user can be benefitted from up to 1200 MHz of additional spectrum.
The Wi-Fi 6E technology can be a way for adopting AR/VR, 8k streaming technology and no one knows what more. The benefits of Wi-Fi 6E like increased bandwidth, high and fast speed, and lower latency can be the reason for multiple future innovations. There are still more things we need to explore to get to know Wi-Fi 6E yet. Wi-Fi 6E is able to solve most of the problems we face while using Wi-Fi and use of it can make life easier.
